Bindra's success despite Sarkar...

Like everything else.

Economic development despite Sarkar...
Law and Order (such as it exists) despite Sarkar...
Emerging "power" status despite Sarkar...

Strong sense of culture despite Sarkar...

I watched this program on CNBC about "India Rising" where a Christist author of a book called "inspite of the gods" spewed his condescension. The dhimmis derisively speak of a "Hindu rate of growth" etc whereas it is Nehruvian Stalinism that stunts India. The book ought to be called "in spite of the Secular gods" or "in spite of Dhimmocracy", "in spite of Nehru"

In place of thighslapping , moustache twirling *China bashers* , bereft of creative inputs ,the following suggestion from a Tamilian , who wrote in the name of 'Olymoic Suggestion ' in another forum is simply Brilliant!

"Here is my suggestion: 1. SEEK OUT THE POTENTIAL ATHLETES FROM THE COUNTRY SIDE AND JUNGLE TRIBES. 2. SEEK OUT THE THE GYMNASTS FROM THE CIRCUS TRIANING CAMPS. 3. SEEK OUT THE SWIMMERS FROM SMALL VILLAGES ALONG THE RIVERS.

Basis of my suggestions: I have seen the boys in the villages jumping from a tree to the other that would give you a heart attack. I have seen the street performances by little girls from scheduled castes that were breath taking. I have seen the swimmers on the banks of Narmada and Tapi Rivers in Gujarat and on the banks of Gunga and in Hooghly that has boggled my mind. Many of these swimmers jump in the flooded rivers and try to swimming against the currents. Many jump in to retrieve the trees carried away by the floods.

All these amazing talent is being overlooked by search being confined to the so-called educated and sophisticated crowds. I am amazed that even in this 21st century, we still tend to look for the talent in wrong places. We largely ignore those with dark skin, which is majority desis".
